Spc Christopher J. Scott

Died: September 3, 2024 in Kandahar, Afghanistan
Spc. Christopher J. Scott of Tyrone, N.Y., died at age 21 at Kandahar province, Afghanistan of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He entered the Army in July 2009 and arrived at Fort Campbell in May 2010. His awards and decorations include: the National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and Army Service Ribbon. He is a 2009 Dundee Central School graduate. Chris was serving his first deployment where he had been since deploying in July. He was scheduled to return from Afghanistan in 12 days to be married.
Burial is at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee, New York
