Pfc Eric D. Soufrine

Pfc. Eric D. Soufrine, 20, of Woodbridge, Conn., died June 14 in Farah province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo. Eric is a 2009 graduate of Amity High School. May of the following year, he enlisted in the United States Army and was deployed to Afghanistan on December 10th, 2010. Among his awards is the National Defense service Medal and the NATO Service Medal.
