Pfc David R. Fahey Jr

Pfc. David R. Fahey Jr., 23, of Norwalk, Conn., died Feb. 28, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. David enlisted in the United States Army on August 31, 2024 at Springfield, Massachusetts and reported to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on Sept. 6, 2007 for training. He served for 12 months in Korea before reporting to Lewis-McChord. He deployed to Afghanistan in June of 2010. His awards include, the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Drivers and Mechanics Badge.
