Staff Sgt. Samuel Maldonado Rosario

Died: October 9, 2009 in Ellsworth, South Dakota
Staff Sgt. Samuel Maldonado Rosario of Killeen, Texas had lived there since he was 10 years old. He graduated from Harker Heights High School in 2005 and entered the United States Air Force on Sept. 13, 2005, where he served faithfully and honorably until his death. After basic training, Samuel attended technical school and trained as a B-1 crew chief. He was then assigned to the 28 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, where he worked diligently as a B-1 dedicated crew chief. He deployed to Al Udied Air Base in 2006 for six months in support of the war on terror. He has also been on several TDYs to include Australia and Alaska. In July 2009, he transitioned to the 28th Maintenance Operations Squadron where he served as a MOC controller working command and control for maintenance operations. Samuel is survived by his wife, Lindsey; daughter, Kianna; his father, Samuel Rosario; stepmother, Yajaira; and his sister, Michelle. He was 21. Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota
