Staff Sgt Loleni W. Gandy

Staff Sgt. Loleni W. Gandy of Pago Pago, American Samoa, is a 1991 graduate of Marist High School and joined the military soon after graduation. He was currently serving his second tour of Iraq. Among his awards are, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Overseas Service Ribbon and Army Service Ribbon. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal. He leaves his wife, Faauta, four children, Amadeus, Alexander, Tyler, and Lawrence, his parents, Larry and Uti, and a brother and a sister. Loleni was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Tomah, Wisconsin. He died at age 36 in Balad, Iraq, in a non-combat related incident.
