Spc Marcos A. Cintron-Torres

Spc. Marcos A. Cintron of Orlando, Florida joined the United States Army in February of 2010 serving as a cannon crew member. The 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team deployed to Iraq in November of 2010, and served as the 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, supporting the development of Iraq Security Forces and the improvement of civil capacity in central Iraq. He died at age 32 at a medical facility in Boston, Massachusetts of wounds suffered June 6 at Baghdad, Iraq, when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire. He is the sixth soldier to die from a June 6 attack that also took the lives of Spc. Emilio Campo, Pfc. Michael Cook, Pfc. Christopher Fishbeck, Spc. Robert Hartwick, and Pfc. Michael Olivieri. Spc Cintron had been medically evacuated from Iraq following the attack where he died in a Boston medical facility.
