Spc. Kansas Jeffrey Counts
Spc. Kansas J. Counts Johnson City, Tennessee was a native of Johnson City and a graduate of Unicoi County High School and was a son of Roger and Brenda Robertson Counts. Kansas was active in the United States Army and had served tours of duty in both Kuwait and Iraq and was currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Taylor and his grandfathers, Johnny Robertson and Delmar Jones. In addition to his parents, he leaves one daughter, Meagan; one step-daughter, Callie and his grandmothers, Louise Ferguson and Alice Jones. Kansas died at age 28 at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Burial is at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee – Sec RR Site 147
