Sgt Jamal Maurice Rhett

Died: August 15, 2010 in Ba Qubah, Iraq
Sgt. Jamal M. Rhett, 24, of Palmyra, New Jersey spent his early years in Philadelphia before moving to New Jersey at age eleven. He graduated in 2003 from Burlington County Institute of Technology and enrolled in Bloomfield College. After attending one year of college, he joined the United States Army to earn money to continue his education. Jamal was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq serving as a combat medic, and hoped to work in the medical field one day. Jamal was respectful and maintained a positive attitude throughout his life. He leaves his mother, Michelle Watson among others. He died at age 24 in Ba Qubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with grenades. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He leaves his mother, Michelle Watson, his father, Thornell Rhett, and his two siblings, Tonya, Jason, and Tamisha.
