Died: June 10, 2012 in Panjwai, Afghanistan

Cpl. Bryant J. Luxmore New Windsor, Illinois died at age 25 in Panjwai, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when he encountered enemy, small arms fire. Luxmore was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. He attended Sherrard High School, Monmouth College and Illinois College. Bryant was married in October 2011. Luxmore, an infantryman, had been in the Army for 14 months and is survived by his wife and step-son. This was Luxmore’s first deployment. Luxmore is posthumously promoted to Corporal, awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman Badge. Hopewell Cemetery in New Windsor, Illinois
