Spc. Brett L. Tribble of Lake Jackson, Texas wanted to be a soldier above anything else. He wanted to make something of his life and this was his avenue to do that. Growing up, he as loved to hunt and fish and play sports. As a youth he hit a few stumbling blocks and dropped out of school. But then he’d gotten his GED. He tried working at local chemical plants but never found anything he liked. Brett Joined the United States Army in 2005 where he served as a gunner. This was a life that he loved. He said it was like going to the gym and getting paid for it. He died in of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated at age 20. His family was presented with the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal and the Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal in recognition of Tribble making the ultimate sacrifice for his country. He is survived by his son, Blaine among others. He was 20.
