Sgt Zainah C. Creamer

Died: January 12, 2011 in Kandahar, Afghanistan
Sgt. Zainah C. Creamer of Texarkana, Texas had been serving in the United States Army for more than six years. She was currently serving her third deployment, and her first as a Military Working Dog handler. Zainah and her canine partner, Jofa, left for Afghanistan on October 26, 2010. Her awards and decorations include, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Afghanistan Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Expert Rifle Badge, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. She was posthumously awarded, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the NATO Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. Sgt Creamer died at age 28 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked her unit with an improvised explosive device. Jofa was uninjured in the attack. She leaves her mother and stepfather, Carlyn and Ernie Brown, her brother, George Creamer, III and her K-9 partner, Jofa among others. She was preceded in death by her father, George Creamer, II.
