Tommy was a 1999 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and earned an Associates Degree in Mechanical Design from Blue Ridge Community College. He worked at a couple of food manufacturing facilities before enlisting in the United States Army in April of 2008. He served as a petroleum supply specialist with the 210th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York. Tommy deployed to Iraq in October 2009. He was home on leave when he died unexpectedly at home. His wife and two children survive him.
Burial: Staunton National Cemetery in Virginia.
