Pfc. Robert J. Near of Nampa, Idaho is a 2007 Granger High School graduate. He was deployed to Afghanistan in March of 2010 and was due to return home within a few weeks. He leaves his father Dale Near, a brother, Kyle Scott, and three sisters, Jennifer Amen, Teddy and Arial Scott, among others. He died at age 21 at Kandahar, Afghanistan. He leaves his father, Dale Near, a brother, Kyle Scott, and three sisters, Jennifer Amen, Teddy and Arial Scott. He was preceded in death by his mother, LuAnn.
