Died: May 7, 2012 in Ghazni, Afghanistan
Pfc. Dustin D. Gross, 19, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky graduated in 2011 from Montgomery County High School in Mount Sterling. Dustin joined the Army with his best friend, and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He had been in Afghanistan for six weeks when he died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Pfc Gross was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He leaves his parents, Angie Brown and Stacy Gross and his brother, Christopher. Burial is at Machpelah Cemetery Mount Sterling, Kentucky
