Captain Michaud was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461, Marine Aircraft Group 26, 2nd Marine. Michaud was a graduate of Hudson High School and the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. Besides being a standout student, he was also an outstanding athlete. Seth was captain of the high school varsity soccer team his senior year, a member of the ski club, a wrestler his sophomore year, and a member of the track team. He was also an Eagle Scout who loved the outdoors. He left for Djibouti on April 9 with the Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa, set up last year to lead the war on terrorism in that region.
