Taylor was an accomplished banjo and guitar player who loved bluegrass, often entertaining his family and friends by playing upon request. Prior to joining the Marine Corps he was employed at Case’s Ace Hardware in Trenton and served an internship with the Dade County Sheriffs Department. He served in the United States Marine Corps beginning in September of 2008, and had been in Afghanistan since March of 2010. He leaves behind a wife, Emily and a daughter Kayden, mother, Barbara Pouliot and father Craig Richards and brother, Matthew. Taylor was a descendent of the Hixson family early pioneer settlers in North Hamilton County. He died at age 20 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
