When I saw the picture of this beautiful young man and understood the circumstances of his death, I was heartbroken for his family and for the terrible waste of his life. His desire to serve his country was an honorable tribute to a country that barely acknowledges his service and the service of all warriors who continue to be in constant danger in Afghanistan. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers as they struggle to find the strength to endure this senseless loss. I will make a donation in his memory to a charity that provides education and support for veterans and active-duty warriors who are fighting everyday to overcome the invisible wounds of PTSD and TBI.
