Lance Cpl. Cody A. Roberts of Boise, Idaho graduated from Centennial High School in 2006 where he was active in wrestling and football throughout high school. Although he spent the majority of his time in Magic Valley, he also stayed briefly in Kentucky and Alaska until moving to Meridian his sophomore year. Three months following graduation he joined the Marine Corps. He would serve overseas tours in Cuba, and Saudi Arabia. His awards include, the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. He was promoted to Lance Corporal on Dec. 1, 2009. Cody met his future wife, Ashleigh when he was stationed at Camp Allen and the couple married on June 13, 2009. The following year they welcomed the birth of a son. He leaves his wife Ashleigh, his son Colten, his mother, Nikee Kramer Roberts, his father and stepmother, Jeff and Christee Roberts, two sisters Kayla and Samantha, a brother Justice. He died at age 22 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
