Lance Cpl Christopher Baltazar of San Antonio, Texas graduated from Judson High School in 2008 where he was a member of the Junior ROTC program. It was no surprise to any of his friends that he joined the Marines after graduating. Chris was a quiet, respectful young man who seemed more comfortable in camouflage than a military dress uniform. Growing up, he loved the typical childhood adventures, riding bikes and playing football and baseball in the Sunrise neighborhood on the Northeast Side. The native of Vahalla, New York, made life long friends after moving with his family to San Antonio at the age of six. He had a natural sense of humor that endeared him to many and was always a joyful happy person. Raised in a military family, his mother, a Staff Sgt, had deployed to Iraq in the past. She currently works at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. Christopher was very excited about being a Marine. He believed in honor and serving his country. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by a sister and two stepbrothers.
