LCpl Keith R. Ochsner of Tully, New York was a class of 2005 graduate of Tully High School where he played football and lacrosse. His nickname in high school was “Ox.” He had been an avid lacrosse and football player and played in leagues since he was 5 years old. He attended Onondaga Community College and enlisted in the Marine Corps April 10, 2006. After completing boot camp he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in July 2006 for six months. Keith was active duty United States Marine, stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. Keith loved to hunt, fish and snowboard. He loved nature, people and serving his country as a Marine. Keith is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Jennifer Ochsner; stepmother, Jane (Joe) Byrne-Panzarella; maternal grandmother, Linda Cook; maternal grandfather, Roy Cook; paternal grandmother, Judith Ochsner-Wallace; paternal grandfather, Ken (Bess) Ochsner; brother, Robert Ochsner; sister, Jacqueline Ochsner; uncle, Douglas (Nicole) Ochsner; aunts, Kelly (John) Lopez; Darlene Ochsner, Aimee Cook and Kim Cook. He had returned home to Tully for the death of his great-grandfather and was only to stay for a few days before his return to Camp LeJeune where he was waiting deployment this summer. He died suddenly at age 22 while home on leave from severe pulmonary edema.

Burial is at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse, New York
