Sgt 1st Class Felicia Dolline Hill Carter

Sgt 1st Class Flecia D. Hill of Raleigh, North Carolina received her early education in the Wake County Public School System and graduated from Athens Drive High School in 1984. Following graduation, Felicia joined the United States Army where she served faithfully. She was awarded the BSM, National defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Component Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, North Carolina Govenor’s Unit Citation, North Carolina Achievement Medal, North Carolina Commendation Medal, North Carolina Service Award, and the North Carolina State Active Duty Award. She joined Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. During her youth, she participated in the youth choir, usher board, the Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. Raised on the priciple that true reward comes through hard work, honesty, and giving, she went above and beyond the call of duty in every aspect of life, especially when it came to providing for her family. She was affectionately called “Pree” and “Little Mama” by her family and close friends. Felicia was serving in the United States Army. She was in route from Iraq headed home to see her family when she callasped at the Atlata airport. Sfc Hill-Carter died at South Fulton Medical Center, Atlanta, Georgia. She is the daughter of Alice Hill and Irene Hill and the late Joseph Hill. In addition to her father and grandfather, Aaron “Dr.” Hill, she was predeceased by her aunt, Brenda Hill Teel.
Burial is at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, North Carolina
