Staff Sgt. Daniel Eugene Tallouzi
Staff Sgt. Daniel Tallouzi of Albuquerque, New Mexico was raised in the Albuquerque North Valley. Daniel attended North Valley Schools and graduated in May 2002 from Valley High School where he was a member of the Valley High School Football Team as a Lineman. Upon graduating, he joined the military, as his three uncles and his older brother had before him. Two of the uncles each did three combat tours in Vietnam. Daniel flourished in the Army, becoming a helicopter electrician and reaching the rank of sergeant at 22. Daniel was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division where he completed Army Basic and AIT. He deployed to Iraq in October 2005 and on September 25, 2006 was seriously wounded in a Mortar Attack. Daniel’s ordeal after being wounded was outlined in a book titled “Pediatrician Soldier”. He suffered head wounds during the mortar attack. Daniel was awarded the Purple Heart for the sacrifice that he has made in support of his country and freedom. Daniel is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Mary Tallouzi; his sister, Jennifer; his brother Christopher Quinteros and wife Cornelia; uncles Mariano Aguirre and wife Chris, Francisco Aguirre and wife Linda, Martin Aguirre and wife Demaris, Domingo Aguirre and wife Cathy; aunts, Sister Pauline Aguirre, Natalie Ohnesorge and husband Danny.
Burial is at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico Sec 20 Site 1276
