Cpl. Max W. Donahue, 23, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado was an advocate for the underdog. He didn’t like bullies and would make sure any child in his presence wouldn’t become a victim. Serving in the military had been a long time desire of his. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 2006 serving as a military police officer and dog-handler. He was currently serving in Afghanistan with ‘Paco’, and trained military canine. Max had previously served two tours in Iraq. His Awards and Decorations include, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, two Iraq Campaign Medals, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and a Certificate of Commendation. Max leaves his mother, Julie Burget Schrock, his father, Greg Donahue, his brother, Ryan Burget, stepbrothers, Taylor and Jordan Schrock. He died at age 23 of wounds received August 4 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was named after his grandfather, Rev. Max Donahue, Sr.
