Death: August 27, 2008 in Onslow County, North Carolina
Cpl. Brandon M. Stewart of Larwill, Indiana graduated in 2004 from Whitko High School. He was enlisted in the United States Marines Corps as a Military Police Officer for 4 years. Brandon was just 7 months away from discharge. He served 2 tours in Iraq with weapons and training battalion. An avid rifleman, he enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and paintball. Brandon had deployed to Iraq twice and worked on base at the rifle range. Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Joni Stewart, a sister, Sheena, 2 nieces, grandfather, Fritz Haegert, and grandmother, Myrna Mullen. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Juanita Claxton and Carol Haegert and aunt, Lynn Sroufe. Buried with Military Honors presented by the Marine Corps. He was killed at age 22 in an auto accident while stationed at Camp Lejeune.
