Special Warfare Operator Petty Officer 1st Class (SEAL/Parachutist) Christopher G. Campbell, 36, of Jacksonville, N.C., died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. He enlisted in the United States Navy in November of 1996. After graduating Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois in February, 1997, he reported to service school training at Dam Neck, Virginia. After his initial service school training, he reported to Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training in Coronado, California. After he graduated BUD/S in February of 1998, he reported to a West Coast based SEAL Team where he served until May, 2004. He then reported to the Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Detachment at Key West, Florida and departed in February, 2006. Petty Officer Campbell reported to his East Coast based SEAL Team in February, 2006. His awards include, the Bronze Star with “V” device for valor, Joint Service Achievement Commendation with “V” device for valor, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense, Global War on Terrorism Service/Expeditionary Medals, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4), Rifle Marksmanship Medal, and Pistol Marksmanship Medal.

Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Heath M. Robinson, 34, of Detroit, Mich., died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. He graduated in 1995 from Petoskey High School before embarking on a military career. He enlisted in the Navy in 1996 and completed SEAL training in Coronado, California, in 2000. He moved from the West Coast in 2004 to serve on four East Coast special warfare units. His awards include, the Bronze Star (4) (three with V devices for valor), Joint Service Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 for valor), Joint Service Achievement Medal Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbon, two Presidential Unit Citations, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, five Navy Good Conduct Medals, Navy Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, six Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, NATO Medal, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal and a Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal.

Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Robert J. Reeves, 32, of Shreveport, La., died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. Rob enlisted in the United States Navy on August, 1998. He graduated from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in November, 1998. Chief Reeves completed Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL School, Coronado California in December, 1999. He served on two West Coast based Special Warfare Units from February, 2000 to April, 2004. He served in two East Coast based Special Warfare Units from February, 2004 to August, 2011. His awards include, the Bronze Star Medal with ‘V’ for valor (4), Joint Service Commendation Medal with ‘V’ for valor, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with “V” for valor, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation (2), Navy Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal, and Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Chief Petty Officer (Expeditionary Warfare Specialist/Freefall Parachutist/Diver) Nicholas H. Null, 30, of Washington, W.Va., died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. Nick enlisted in the United States Navy in September, 2000. After graduating from Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois in December, 2000, he reported for his initial service school training at Great Lakes, Illinois. After completing service school training, he reported to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 6 at Panama City, Florida in May, 2001. He then reported to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 2 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In May 2007, he reported to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He returned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 2, Virginia Beach, Virginia, in July, 2007. In January, 2009, he reported to his East Coast based SEAL Team. His awards include, Bronze Star Medal (2) one with “V” device for valor, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with “V” device for valor (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) one with “V” for valor, Combat Action Ribbon (2), Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4), Rifle Marksmanship Medal, and Pistol Marksmanship Medal.

Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Stephen M. Mills, 35, of Fort Worth, Texas died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.  Matt enlisted in the United States Navy in January, 1997. After graduating Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois in March, 1997, he reported to his initial service school training at Dam Neck, VA. He completed his service school training in June, 1997 and reported aboard USS KINKAID (DD 965) where he served until June, 2000. In June, 2000 he began Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training at Coronado, California. Upon graduating from BUD/S in March, 2001, he reported to a West Coast based SEAL Team until March, 2005. He then reported to his East Coast based SEAL Team in March, 2005. Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Kevin A. Houston of West Hyannisport, Mass., died at age 35 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. He enlisted in the United States Navy in January, 1995. After completion of Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in April, 1995, he attended Service School Training at Lemoore, California in May, 1995. He then reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 195 in Yokosuka, Japan in June, 1995. After serving in Japan, he reported to Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 2 at North Island, California in July, 1996. He then attended Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training at Coronado, California. After graduating BUD/S, he was assigned to an East Coast based SEAL Team in May, 1999. In December, 2005, he reported to Naval Special Warfare Group TWO. In January, 2008 he reported to his East Coast based SEAL Team. Senior Chief Vickers than served in Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit 3, Barbers Point, Hawaii from August, 2002 to February, 2005. He served in an East Coast based Special Warfare Unit from February, 2005 to August, 2011. His awards include, the Bronze Star Medal with ‘V’ for valor (3), Purple Heart, Joint Service Commendation Medal with Combat ‘V’, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3), Combat Action Ribbon (2), Presidential Unit Citation (3), Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct Medal (4), Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal, and Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal.
