Staff Sgt Thomas W. Christensen of Atlantic Mine, Michigan was assigned to the 652nd Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. He was killed during a mortar attack on his living quarters. Thomas joined the Army around 1981 and left in 1994 when he became a reservist. He was with an Army Reserve bridge building unit that had been in the Persian Gulf for about a year, first in Kuwait and then in Iraq.

Burial is at Highland Cemetery in Highland, Michigan
