Spc Joseph Michael Dumont Blickenstaff
July 17th, 2009
Birth: September 26, 1980 – Corvallis, Oregon
Died: December 8, 2003 – Duluiyah, Iraq
Spc Blickenstaff was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. He was killed when his vehicle tumbled off a dirt road and landed upside down in a canal. Joseph was remembered by his teachers as quiet and well liked but he missed enough school days to land him in a program for at risk teens. He turned to the Army to find discipline in his life and the military was the right choice for him.
Buried: Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington – Section 25, Site 1956
