Died: October 29, 2009 – Khabari Crossing, Kuwait

Spc Avila was assigned to the 1343rd Chemical Company, 151st Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Battalion, 115th Fires Brigade of the Alabama National Guard, Fort Payne, Alabama, as an infantryman. He died of injuries sustained from a non-combat related accident. Adrian attended Opelika High School and then enlisted in the National Guard in 2007. He was a good and dependable soldier who had a passion for the Army. Fellow soldiers remember a great kid who would get excited about a car he had seen online or a gun he had just seen. But he was best known for going out at night and hunting scorpions to keep himself busy. Adrian was a patriot who wanted to serve his country and do the right thing. His life had been hard but he was determined to make something of it.

Burial: Fort Benning Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, Georgia – Section J, Site 1136A
